Student Support

Orientation

On arrival at Glendowie College International students attend an Orientation session.  During that time students are introduced to the school, to the school rules and the expectations of the school. Students have an English and other tests to help with placing students into the correct subject or option classes according to their abilities and past experience.

Also during Orientation we take the students to the Uniform shop to collect their school uniform (excluding for shoes).

Pastoral Care and Mentoring

Students are interviewed regularly to ensure that they are comfortable in their homestay and that they are making academic progress in their subject classes.

Counselling and Guidance

The Director of International Students is available to the International Students to help with any issues or difficulties that may occur.  Also available to help the International Students is their house dean, form class and subject teachers.

In the case where a specialist counsellor is needed the students can make an appointment with the School Counsellor.

Health Care

A qualified nurse is available in the school to help if a student is feeling unwell.
