School Donation

The school requests a donation for all students. The donation is used to support the ongoing development of the school and to deliver quality academic, sporting, cultural and social outcomes for our students.

The current donation amount is $595 for one student and $950 for a family (2 or more students). Receipts are issued. Donations are tax deductible.

The donation amount for 2027 will be $650 (discounted to $620 if paid before 31 March) and an additional $350 (no further discount) for two or more children. This will be reviewed annually in line with the Consumer Price Index (CPI).

Enrolment Capacity

No more prospective students than is necessary will be excluded to avoid overcrowding or the likelihood of overcrowding.

To ensure the health and safety of enrolled students in relation to the current site capacity, the roll for the start of the school year will be at a reasonable margin below the optimum level of students to allow for expected roll growth and demand from the in zone areas during the year.

School Zone

Glendowie College operates a school zone. All students who live inside the school zone (see map) are entitled to enrol at the college. Students living outside of the school zone must apply to enrol. For a detailed street view, please click the link.

Zone Map

In Zone Enrolments

All students who live within the in zone described below shall be entitled to enrol at Glendowie College.

Students are classified as living in zone if their usual place of residence during the week is inside the geographic boundary around the school (defined below).

If the school finds that an address is temporary or false information has been provided as part of a student’s enrolment application, the school can refuse or annul an enrolment.
Students are expected to be in zone and remain in zone for a minimum of 12 months, from the date that the enrolment has been submitted.
If an enrolled student moves out of the school zone, it is the responsibility of the caregiver to inform the school as soon as possible.

Glendowie and St Heliers: bounded by West Tamaki Road, Grampian Road, Allum Street from Grampian Road, Melanesia Road from Allum Street to Sage Road, Sage Road, and the coastline from Sage Road to West Tamaki Road. Both sides of the boundary road will be considered to be in the in zone. and:
St Johns Park: bounded by St Johns Road, Remuera Road, Koraha Street, Abbotts Way, Ngahue Drive and College Road (these boundary roads are excluded and therefore not considered to be within the in zone). Streets that fall within these boundary roads will be considered to be in the in zone.

Out of Zone Enrolments

Each year the Board will determine the number of places that are likely to be available in the following year for the enrolment of students who live outside the in zone. The Board of Trustees will publish enrolment information by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.

The notice will indicate how applications are to be made and will specify a date by which all applications must be received.

Applications for enrolment will be processed in the following order of priority.

First Priority	This priority category is not applicable at the school because the school does not operate a special programme approved by the Secretary for Education.
Second Priority	Will be given to applicants who are siblings of current students.
Third Priority	will be given to applicants who are siblings of former students
Fourth Priority	Will be given to applicants who are children of a former student of the school.
Fifth Priority	Will be given to applicants who are children of board employees or children of a member of the board of the school.
Sixth Priority	Will be given to all other applicants

If there are more applicants in the second, third, fourth, fifth, or sixth priority groups than there are places available, selection within the priority group will be by a ballot conducted in accordance with instructions issued by the Secretary under Section 11 G (1) of the Education Act 1989. Parents will be informed of the date of any ballot by notice in a daily or community newspaper circulating in the area served by the school.

Applicants seeking second or third priority status may be required to give proof of a sibling relationship.

Applicants seeking fourth priority status may be required to give proof of enrolment.

Tuesday, 9 June (7pm, Hall)	Parents' Information Evening - 2027 Enrolment Process
Saturday, 25 July (9am - 12pm)	Open Day Students will provide a guided tour of the College. Presentation in the Library at 10:00am and 11:00am by the Principal with an opportunity to ask questions. Prospective parents and students are warmly invited to attend to meet the Principal and Senior staff and view the college campus.
Friday, 21 August	In Zone applications due to Glendowie College Reception
Wednesday, 2 September	Closing date for Out of Zone applications
Wednesday, 9 September	Ballot date for all Out of Zone applications
Wednesday, 16 September	Out of zone applicants will be notified by mail of their place on the ballot
