New Zealand Economics Forum – ‘Big Choices for a Small Nation’

A group of Economics students attended the annual New Zealand Economics Forum which took place at the University of Waikato on the 12th and 13th February 2026.  It was an intensive two days, packed with high-level debates and insights into the financial forces shaping New Zealand’s future.

This trip was extremely insightful, with many well-known keynote speakers such as Nicola Willis, Barbara Edmonds and Iain Rennie, sharing their knowledge with the students.  It was a great learning experience as it brought economic theory to life and gave the students the opportunity to listen to, and meet with, experts in their field.
