SchoolPoint is an online assessment and homework diary for students.  This replaces the printed student planner which the college has used previously.

SchoolPoint Parent Information

The College has introduced an online assessment and homework diary for students, Schoolpoint. This replaces the printed student planner used previously.

The new online diary allows your child(ren) to:

  • Enter their own homework, notes and reminders
  • View school events
  • View homework as assigned by teachers
  • View due dates for assessments for each of their subjects

Parents also have access to view their child(ren)’s online diary.

 

Parent Login:

The “Online Diary” can be accessed via the school website, as shown below (next to the Principal’s Newsletters)

 

 

You will be directed to the following screen to Login (top right):

 

 

Your login details are the same as the Parent Portal.

  • The username is your child’s student ID number.

Note: If you have more than one child at the College, you will need to login to each child’s account separately, using their student ID and corresponding password.

  • The password is your parent portal password. If you do not know your portal password, please contact Sheree Anderson (asn@gdc.school.nz)

 

Once logged in, you will see the following screen:

 

 

Note: There is an App available (advertised on the right hand side) for you to download onto your phone if you wish. This can give you alerts when your child has assessments or notes have been sent through by their teacher(s). 

 

Please navigate to the “Assessment Calendar” on the left hand navigation. This is your child’s online diary:

 

 

Day to Day Information:

  • The date highlighted is the current date.
  • Next to the date you will see Open/Closed or Weekend showing the days school is open. Also shown in a blue circle is the number of events for a particular day, as per the school events calendar.
  • Simply click on a day to display more information, including the timetabled day and details about each event.

 

Assessment Information:

Teachers have recently added information regarding their courses.

  • Items shown in blue are assessments, assignments and/or tests as set by teachers.
  • Items shown in yellow are practicals and/or portfolios
  • Items shown in red are exams
  • Items shown in green are homework
  • Items shown in grey are notes your child has directly entered into their own diary
  • [R] indicates a reminder set by either teachers or students

For example, when you click on an individual day you will see the following:

You can also view the “Term calendar” from the left hand navigation. This gives you an overview of the assessments due throughout the term.
